Ok, so Frank and I just went down to Traverse City last Saturday to have our car fixed for a warranty item. For those of you that know northern Michigan, you know that Cedarville and Traverse City are 3 hours away from each other. With gas being $4.25 a gallon here, I was none too thrilled to have to drive there.
So, fast forward to this past Saturday. I was driving down the road and reached up to put my visor down because it was sunny and I heard a "thunk" noise. At first I thought something had hit the car. But, I looked at my lap and saw my seat belt in a pile. I tried everything I could think of to fix it. Nope.
Today I called our dealership in Traverse City and they said I could try to call another GM dealer that is closer to see if they will work on it, but they didn't think they would. So, I called the dealer in the Soo (which is about 35 miles away) and Petoskey (which is about 7o miles away). Neither one of them would work on it.
Finally, I called Saturn Roadside. A handy little service that we have for the duration of our factory warranty. They sent someone from Rudyard to tow the car to Traverse City, which is the closest Saturn dealer. How lame is that? Don't get me wrong, I am glad the service is available, but how much will that cost them? We wonder why cars are so expensive!!
So, our poor car is down in Traverse being worked on, again. The crappy thing is I have to go down there to pick it up when it's done. That wouldn't be such a bad thing, I do like to go there, but gas is so damn expensive. Oh well, I guess it is better than having to shell the money out to have it fixed. I don't know about everyone else, but it seems that I can never get anything done at the mechanics under $200.
That is my current woe. Not the end of the world, but irritating nonetheless.
We had a nice weekend though. I cleaned and painted a window for my mom and dad. It was really warm this weekend. We even managed to have bonfire on Saturday night. So, that was nice.
Everyone have a splendarific day :)
